What is sublimation ink and how does it work?

Sublimation ink is a dye-based ink that turns into gas when heated to 180-200°C, bonding directly with polyester fibers at the molecular level — so the print becomes part of the fabric, not a layer on top. It is used on polyester fabrics, coated metals, ceramics, and poly-coated hard surfaces like mugs and phone cases. The result: vibrant, permanent prints that won't crack, peel, or fade.

What fabrics can I print with sublimation ink?

Sublimation ink works best on 100% polyester and polyester-blend fabrics (minimum 60% polyester). It also prints on poly-coated hard surfaces including mugs, phone cases, aluminum panels, ceramic tiles, and keychains. It does not work on 100% cotton, silk, wool, or nylon — for those fabrics, use pigment or reactive dye inks instead.

How does INKBANK sublimation ink compare to other brands?

INKBANK sublimation ink delivers 4-5 color fastness after 100+ industrial washes, transfers at 200-220°C in 35-60 seconds, and is batch-tested for color consistency across 40,000 tons of annual production.

  • High color reproduction — Bright, accurate colors across polyester, coated metals, ceramics, and hard surfaces. Color consistency maintained during long production runs with minimal color drift.

  • Excellent durability — Prints resist fading, peeling, and cracking through repeated washing. The ink bonds permanently with polyester fibers at the molecular level.

  • Wide applicability — Sportswear, custom T-shirts, flags, personalized gifts, advertising signage, home decor, and poly-coated hard goods. One ink formulation covers multiple product categories.

  • Stable batch-to-batch — ISO9001 quality management system governs every production batch. Same color on your first order and your 50th.

What certifications does INKBANK sublimation ink have?

INKBANK sublimation ink is OEKO-TEX ECO PASSPORT certified, ZDHC MRSL Level 3 compliant, GOTS 7.0 approved, SGS tested, and REACH/RoHS compliant. ISO9001 quality management and ISO14001 environmental management govern every batch. Full certification documentation provided with every bulk order — ready to share with your buyers.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the minimum order quantity for INKBANK sublimation ink?

INKBANK supplies both small-batch and bulk orders. Our 40,000-ton annual capacity means we can fulfill orders from 100L trial quantities to full container loads. Contact sales for current MOQ — free samples are available for printhead compatibility testing before committing to production volumes.

Q: What is the cost of sublimation ink per square meter?

INKBANK ultra-high concentration sublimation ink costs USD 0.08–0.15/m² depending on coverage and printer settings. The concentrated formula covers 1.5× more fabric per liter than standard sublimation inks, reducing total ink cost by 30–40%. At 80–120 m² per liter coverage, this is the lowest per-square-meter cost among all digital textile ink types.

Q: Which printers and printheads are compatible with INKBANK sublimation ink?

INKBANK sublimation ink is formulated for Epson i3200, Epson S3200, Kyocera KJ4A, Kyocera KJ4B, and Ricoh Gen5 industrial printheads. Each formulation is tuned to the specific head's viscosity and jetting frequency requirements. Free compatibility testing is available — send your printhead model for a custom ink recommendation within 48 hours.

Q: Is INKBANK sublimation ink OEKO-TEX certified?

Yes. INKBANK sublimation ink is certified OEKO-TEX ECO PASSPORT (chemical safety for textiles) and GOTS 7.0 (Global Organic Textile Standard). These certifications meet EU textile brand requirements and eliminate customs friction for European importers. Full REACH compliance and ZDHC MRSL Level 3 certification also apply across all INKBANK ink lines.

Q: How long does sublimation ink last in storage?

INKBANK sublimation ink has a 12-month shelf life when stored in sealed containers at 5–35°C away from direct sunlight. Dye-based sublimation inks naturally degrade more slowly than pigment-based inks. Every shipment includes a batch-level Certificate of Analysis with viscosity and particle size data. Once opened, use within 3–6 months depending on printer environment.
