The global textile industry is placing increasing importance on environmental protection and sustainable development, driving the continuous iteration and evolution of digital printing technology.
Traditional Direct-to-Film (DTF) processes have brought immense convenience and flexibility to the garment decoration industry. However, in practical production, the essential hot melt powder process presents ongoing challenges for many printing enterprises regarding workspace environment management and equipment energy consumption.
To align with the industry's shift toward green, low-carbon manufacturing and further expand the boundaries of digital printing applications, the INKBANK R&D Lab has introduced a brand-new technological option: the Powderless (Glue-free) DTF Ink Solution.
The original intention of this solution is not to negate or completely replace existing traditional powder-shaking processes. Instead, it provides a highly competitive, cutting-edge choice for printing enterprises seeking higher environmental standards, streamlined workflows, and a premium hand-feel on high-end fabrics.

While retaining the convenience of the DTF process, INKBANK has developed an advanced Printable Self-crosslinking Adhesive. Through precise formulation, this adhesive is jetted simultaneously with CMYK and White inks inside the printer. During the heat press phase, the polymer structure is instantly activated to form a permanent bond with the fabric fibers. The entire process is completed purely through inkjet technology, eliminating the need for any additional granular hot melt powder.
(For diverse production requirement reference)
| Dimension | Traditional DTF (With Powder) | INKBANK Powderless (Glue-free) DTF |
| Adhesion Method | Physical powdering (Requires shaker & baking tunnel) | Chemical crosslinking (Inline printable liquid adhesive) |
| Hand-feel | Noticeable adhesive layer, thicker texture | Ultra-thin, soft, highly breathable, comparable to water-based dye feel |
| Energy Consumption | Relatively high (Continuous operation of shaker equipment) | Significantly reduced (Eliminates the heavy shaker/dryer stage) |
| Workspace | Requires effort for dust collection & maintenance | Closed-loop inkjet process; cleaner, dust-free environment |
| Detail Precision | Occasional stray powder on fine halftone edges | Precise drop placement, razor-sharp edges, no adhesive overflow |
| Eco-compliance | Meets conventional printing needs | Highly aligned with ZDHC Level 3 & OEKO-TEX® initiatives |

Traditional DTF can produce a heavy, rubbery feel when printing large solid colors. The Powderless (Glue-free) solution keeps the ink layer incredibly thin by eliminating the physical layer of melted powder. This results in an exceptionally soft hand-feel comparable to "Direct-to-Garment" (DTG) printing, preserving the fabric's original drape and breathability.
The powderless process eradicates micro-plastic dust at the source, significantly reducing the pressure of workspace maintenance. This clean, modern production model perfectly resonates with OEKO-TEX® and ZDHC Level 3 green manufacturing philosophies.

A Word from INKBANK’s R&D Lab Experts:
"The future of digital printing is undeniably moving toward greener and more efficient practices. When developing our Powderless DTF ink, we successfully balanced printhead stability with finished product wash fastness."
Embrace the Powderless (Glue-free) DTF technology and lead the sustainable future of textile printing with INKBANK.
Q: Does the wash fastness of powderless DTF ink match traditional hot melt powder?
A: Absolutely. INKBANK’s powderless DTF ink utilizes advanced self-crosslinking printable adhesive technology. It stably passes rigorous wash tests (achieving Level 4+ wash fastness).
Q: Can I use powderless DTF ink on my existing DTF printer?
A: Yes. This solution does not require adding a separate printhead for the adhesive.
